The problem

Saddle bags run out of space before you do.

On folding bikes and big-wheel frames, the gap between saddle and tyre is tight. Classic saddle bags hang down, snag heels, and slow every stop. Front-loaded bags change the ride. You need luggage that sits behind you—and comes off in seconds.

The solution

A seatpost bag mount that hugs the post.

Seatpost Hugger clamps to your seatpost and holds a quick-release luggage block. Mount a Brompton-style bag behind the saddle, ride cleaner, and unclip when you arrive. Tubular structure, level geometry, no downward tilt.

Same job, two builds. Pro is the CNC piece for strength and finish. Lite is the daily commuter at a lighter price.

Why this mount

Quick off. Level. Strong under load.

  • Hand opening the quick-release lever on a Seatpost Hugger clamp

    Quick-release

Clamp on, bag off. The same familiar block motion Brompton riders already trust — on the seatpost.

  • Tubular Seatpost Hugger body versus a flat-plate clamp on the seatpost

    Tubular structure

A tubular main body carries load better than a flat plate. Pro’s one-piece CNC link is lighter and stiffer still.

  • Angled-down mount versus Seatpost Hugger sitting level

    No downward tilt

The block sits level — not angled down. A level bag is more stable and safer than a drooping mount.

  • Person standing on a Seatpost Hugger behind the saddle of a yellow share bike

    High load

A real adult’s body weight on the mount. It stays planted — no shake. Built to carry bags, not just look the part.

Why Pro is Pro

Simpler structure. Less weight. More load.

  • Lite connecting structure with twin steel nails in the faceplate

    Lite twin nails

Pro one-piece CNC aluminum connecting structure

    Pro CNC

    One-piece CNC

One-piece CNC aluminum replaces Lite’s twin 12.9 steel nails. Simpler path, less weight, more load.

  • Pro CNC connecting head, with a Lite inset for scale

    CNC anodized

Precision joints, natural fit. CNC anodized — a finer finish than a standard coat.

  • Pro 17.5 cm reach versus Lite 14.5 cm, measured on the arm

    Longer reach

Pro reaches farther for rearward saddles at 17.5 cm. Lite stays compact at 14.5 cm.

  • Budget-priced three-hole carrier block

    Budget block

Two views of the thick H&H-style aluminum carrier block

    H&H-style

    Thick aluminum block

H&H-style aluminum, not lightened for show. Fits about 99% of bags and racks.

  • Pro arm with swappable carrier blocks in several colors

    Detachable block

The carrier block is detachable and replaceable. Fit another brand, or a different finish.

  • Blue folding bike on a beach, basket reversed forward with a rabbit inside

    Reversible block

Pro flips the block forward for a different bag stance — or hangs it behind the saddle as usual.

How it works

Clamp. Hang. Go.

  1. Clamp

Fit the adapter to an exposed section of seatpost. Position for heel clearance and bag height.

  2. Hang

Lock your bag onto the quick-release block—the same familiar motion Brompton riders already trust.

  3. Go

Ride with luggage behind your back. Unclip in one motion when you park or fold.

Compatibility

Fits 27.2–34.9 mm.

FAQ

Questions before you ride.

Is Seatpost Hugger for Brompton only?

Brompton is the first audience, but the clamp covers 27.2–34.9 mm posts — DAHON, Fnhon, Birdy, road and MTB included. Use 31.8 mm for Brompton/Birdy and 33.9 mm for typical DAHON/Fnhon posts.

How is Lite different from Pro?

Pro uses a one-piece CNC aluminum link, a detachable aluminum carrier block, a finer anodized finish, and weighs 295 g at 17.5 cm. Lite uses twin 12.9 steel nails, a fixed fiberglass block, and is 334 g at 14.5 cm.

Will it work with a Brompton front carrier block?

Yes. Lite uses a fiberglass OEM-style block. Pro uses an H&H-style aluminum block that fits about 99% of bags and racks on the market. Pro’s block can be swapped for other brands.

What load can it take?

Lite is rated to 10 kg for daily riding. Pro is rated over 10 kg and has been ridden 600 km with a 10 kg load. Ride geometry and heel clearance still matter — pack for the bike, not just the number.
